A pandemic of influenza A (H1N1), also known as the Spanish Flu, caused the death of about 50 million people worldwide.
It was called the Spanish Flu because it flourished in Spain. It also occurred in America,England,and China. Although there was no significant cure for the disease, the pandemic made it common to visit doctors and to receive vaccinations annually.
